About

All about this course. Our PTSD Awareness course is suitable for anyone wanting a greater understanding about what post-traumatic stress disorder is and how to support someone who has it. You will consider that PTSD is a mental health condition caused by traumatic incidents that Law Enforcement Officers & First Responders experience in their careers. The course will also cover in detail the signs and symptoms of PTSD, as well as looking at complex PTSD (CPTSD) which is a condition that is separate to post-traumatic stress disorder. You will learn that CPTSD may result in the experience of emotional flashbacks in which there are intense feelings that were originally felt during the traumatic event. This course has been accredited by the CPDSO and gives 5.5 hours of accredited Continuing Professional Development. Module One: What is PTSD ? Module Two: Recognising CPTSD/PTSD in colleagues Module Three: Preventing Risk with Coping Mechanisms Module Four: Brains At the end of each module there is a 10 question knowledge check so you can see how much you have learned. A certificate of completion is issued on attaining a 90% pass rate.
